помимо краткого обзора истории и основных достижений на мировом уровне, приводится рубрика "Did you know?", включающая в себя (как я поняла) просто малоизвестные интересные факты...
Так вот... с точки зрения организаторов, самыми показательными и интересными являются:

- It is said that the Dutch flag influenced the design of the Russian flag. Peter the Great, Tsar of Russia, visited the Netherlands in the - 17th century to have a look at the country's shipping industry. When he returned to Russia, he assembled his own shipping fleet and designed a white, blue and red flag in honor of the Netherlands;
- One of Russia's most famous pieces of handicraft is the matryoshka doll (pictured);
- Russia has 83 so-called 'subjects'. Most of them are provinces, or oblasts, and republics. Two of them are federal cities - Moscow and St. Petersburg
